Daelric Melharian was once a rising officer within the mighty Gallente Federation Navy, serving with distinction as a Naval Major during some of the Federation’s bloodiest frontier conflicts. Known for his sharp tactical instincts and unwavering composure under fire, Melharian built a reputation as an officer willing to stand beside his crews in the heart of battle rather than command safely from orbit.
That reputation came at a cost.
During a disastrous engagement deep in contested space, Daelric’s vessel was caught in a brutal exchange that left much of his crew dead and his own body shattered. He survived the battle, but lost his left arm in the fighting. The Federation rebuilt the limb with cybernetics, yet the scars left on his mind proved far harder to repair. Haunted by the screams of dying crews, burning hulls, and the endless silence that follows a battlefield, Daelric returned home a different man than the one who had left.
Unable to continue frontline service, he accepted a quieter assignment teaching strategy and navigation at the Federation Naval Academy. For several years he instructed the next generation of Gallente officers, passing on hard-earned lessons about survival, leadership, and the terrible realities of war. Though respected by his students, Daelric increasingly found himself restless within the rigid structure of military life.
Eventually, he resigned his commission entirely.
Seeking distance from politics, conflict, and the ghosts of his past, Daelric vanished into the outer regions of New Eden, where he joined the Wayfinder Extraction Group. Among explorers, salvagers, and relic hunters, he found a different purpose: uncovering the forgotten ruins and lost histories scattered across the stars.
Now, Daelric roams dangerous systems not in pursuit of conquest, but discovery. Ancient relic sites, derelict stations, and long-dead civilizations hold a strange comfort for him — reminders that even empires fade, wars end, and something meaningful can still be recovered from the wreckage.
